HK food post

I’ll be in HK for a few days in April! Any other resto recommendations? :D
Ugh, I wish our trips overlapped, so we could have explored the food!
We generally gravitated around the World Trade Center, so my experience is limited:
- Itamae-Sushi (East Point Road, Causeway Bay) - It’s directly opposite WTC and probably has a queue outside. Expensive, but then it’s sushi. It’s been years since we last ate there, but I’m pretty sure it’s quality.
- 太興燒味 / Tai Hing (Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay) - They have good roast duck/goose and Hainanese chicken and reasonable prices. (The place across it has regrettable Hainanese. REGRETTABLE.)
- BEE Japanese Curry Shop (Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay) - Haha, see how everything on this list is near each other XD I can’t vouch for this because I didn’t have the curry, but my brother loves it. (Other notes: Filipino staff, so we were very comfortable.)
- Lucky Dessert (Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay) - Situated at the corner right before Burger King. The mango mochi is around HKD 33-38 (they also have a durian version if that’s how you ~roll). Probably open until 2AM.
- 金牌小龍 / King’s Dumpling (3/F Windsor House, Causeway Bay) - Xiao long bao and ma chang (and hand-pulled noodles - the plain ones cost ~HKD 20)! Kinda pricey but it’s not like I’d go there for full meals. Their ma chang is the best I’ve had to date - and I don’t even really like ma chang. They have a “special” variant of xiao long bao with minced crab in the filling but I’m conditioned to prefer the regular pork version. XD I have no taste memory whatsoever so idk how it stacks up against other xiao long bao (Crystal Jade, Din Tai Fung), but I love it all the same.
There’s also a King’s Cuisine on the 6th floor but we haven’t tried it.
- 添好運 (Kwong Wa St, Mongkok) - LOL idk the Cantonese pronunciation of this (it’s just “Lucky Tim” in my head because of their e-mail address). Tiny space and a long queue in the morning, so basically just grab a number and shop around since I think it’s pretty near the Ladies’ Market. Good and affordable dimsum (it has all these awards and stuff), surprisingly courteous staff, and fantastic pork buns. Not sure if worth the wait/hype, though. Maybe if I could just have the pork buns to go. XD

Lucky Dessert has relocated since we were last there (2008? 2009?), causing a minor state of panic, but it’s still on the same street and has more space and nobody has to queue outside anymore! The mochi wrapping for the mango slices are topped with shreds of coconut, which, you know, why don’t we have this in the Philippines, we have all these mangoes and coconuts and they’re amazing.
Anyway, am really really regretting not taking pictures of each and every meal I had in Hong Kong. I mean, I took down notes, but still.
AMANDAAA!!! HAHAHA
