"And if I could,” my father wrote to me,
huge as a bear himself, when I was younger,
“I would dower you with experience, without experience.”
and I, in my turn, would pass that on to you.
But we make our own mistakes. We sleep
unwisely.
It is our right. It is our madness and our glory.
The repetition echoes down the years."

For Father’s Day (which our household doesn’t actually celebrate, but w/e, I was rereading this last night and ajsd;fj ALL THE FEELINGS), I guess. We owe it to each other to tell stories.
"Q: Hi, you asked for Doctor Who related questions, so: I’d heard that your episode was supposed to be part of series 5 and was shunted to series 6. Were any major changes required to make it work in the sixth series? And, rather cheekily, as I’m sure you get this kind of question all the time: What advice can you offer to an 8 year old boy who loves to write?
A: No major changes, but lots of minor changes. If it had been in series 5 it would have been scarier, I think, as it would have been Nephew playing a lethal game of Hide and Seek with Amy through the house-occupied TARDIS. And it would have had a much darker ending, as the Doctor and Amy buried Idris’s body, and then talked about mortality and endings, while the Doctor made a daisy chain."
